Selecta raises £3,550 for Acorns Children’s Hospice

Every December, Selecta Systems runs fundraising activities to support its chosen local charity, Acorns Children’s Hospice. This year, a Christmas raffle and festive jumper day raised £3,550.
Selecta has supported Acorns for several years and continues to recognise the important role it plays in the local community. The charity provides specialist care for babies, children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, along with ongoing support for their families.
Marketing Manager Mark Walker explained why these efforts matter. He said Acorns depends heavily on donations to keep its services running, especially after recent funding pressures.
“We have always been amazed by the level of care and support Acorns provides, not only to children and young people, but to their families as well,” he said.
Acorns offers a wide range of support, including short breaks, emergency and end-of-life care, as well as emotional and therapeutic support for families. It also provides help for siblings and bereavement care, ensuring each family gets the support they need during difficult times.
The fundraising was organised by Marketing Assistant Danielle Southam, who thanked everyone involved. She said the strong support from colleagues across the business made the events a success.
The £3,550 raised will go directly towards helping Acorns continue its work and support the families who rely on it.
