FlexiFire

FlexiFire® intumescent sheet is a graphite-based material developed by Vanquish for fire door hardware protection. It is designed to protect rebated hardware such as hinges, locks and ironmongery by expanding under heat and sealing gaps to prevent heat transfer.
At around 180°C, the intercalated graphite activates and expands many times its original volume. This creates a dense insulating char that fills voids around hardware, maintaining the integrity of the fire door and helping it perform as intended in fire conditions.
FlexiFire is flexible, easy to work with and can be supplied in a wide range of formats including intumescent hinge pads, lock sleeves and complete hardware protection kits. It is suitable for both standard and bespoke applications across fire-rated doors and glazing systems.
The material is engineered for consistent performance. A 0.8mm thickness can be used for both 30 and 60 minute fire-rated applications, and its durability supports a lifespan in line with the door itself. All products are third-party tested and accredited, with full traceability available where required.
FlexiFire® Grades
FlexiFire is available in three grades, each designed for specific types of intumescent hardware protection.
FlexiFire HP is used where minimal voids are present, such as hinges and door viewers. It has a controlled expansion profile, expanding to more than six times its original volume.
FlexiFire HS is an elastomeric sheet designed for locks, latches and door closers. It offers a higher level of expansion, exceeding fifteen times its original volume, making it suitable for more demanding rebated hardware applications.
FlexiFire HE contains the highest graphite loading and is used where larger apertures need to be protected, such as letterplates or similar openings. It expands to more than twenty times its original volume and forms a strong insulating barrier.
Applications
FlexiFire is used across a wide range of fire door and glazing applications, including hinges, locks and latches, flush bolts, door controls and letterplates. It is also suitable for protecting light fittings and certain glazing systems where fire resistance is required.
