Albany Windows hits £1m sales

Posted on 27/03/2017

Albany Windows Ltd reported that it entered 2017 in fine fettle with sales having doubled from just under £500k in the twelve months to January 2015 to well over £1m in the twelve months to January 2017.

What is more, this growth had been achieved prudently, with net assets rising to £125k from £45k, maintaining its prized low-risk rating with Experian, the leading credit rating agency.

Director Peter Knox said, “Obviously, everybody has to make an effective contribution to enable this rate of growth, but major thanks must go to the installation teams, who, come rain or shine, take a genuine interest in every job and a pride in creating satisfied customers, as our regular Which? Trusted Traders reviews show. But such growth creates a lot of pressure in the office and Claire in sales and Lesley in progress, ably assisted by Pat, have been constant in seeking improvements to customer service.”

Asked about growth plans for the future, Peter said, “Just as fast as we can in a controlled manner. We are at the quality end of the market where it is crucial we stay focused on customer satisfaction, and so it depends on how quickly we can recruit and assimilate able and committed staff. If we can do that, then we are still a small company in a very big market and there is plenty of growth potential without looking around too hard.

"We already serve all of Gloucestershire from our Cheltenham base, and are particularly strong in Gloucester, but we want to promote ourselves far more in the Cotswolds, The Forest of Dean, Tewkesbury, Stroud and Cirencester. We are also beginning to seek work in South Gloucestershire and North Bristol to give us a readily established base of customers in preparation for opening a South Gloucestershire showroom in a year or so.

"But all this depends on a fair economic wind and we intend to be cautious because although ours is a core industry in the long run, with a reliable glazing replacement cycle, the market can be volatile in the short term."
