Hardware leader to team up with GM Fundraising

Hardware leader to team up with GM Fundraising

Posted on 16/11/2017

Global leaders in window and door hardware Caldwell have teamed up with GM Fundraising, choosing the charity as the sole beneficiary for its donations going forward.

GM Fundraising was established in 1996 by Gary Morton. Gary is the CEO of the Boing Boing Group; which acquired Midlands-based fabricator Central RPL in 2015. He runs the charity alongside a group of volunteers.

GM Fundraising predominantly raises funds for Hope House, a children’s hospice which provides palliative care for children with long-term or terminal conditions, and offers support to the friends and family of these children.

Current supporters of GM Fundraising include many leading brands in the glass and glazing industry and, in supporting them, Caldwell wants to help the charity reach its target of raising a minimum of £2m for Hope House by 2020.

Tim Ferkin, Sales and Marketing Director at Caldwell, comments: “As a business, we have always supported different causes but have done so on an ad hoc basis. We wanted to commit fully to one cause and have been continually impressed by GM Fundraising’s commitment to ensuring that all the money they raise goes directly to those that really need it.

“Our aim in year one is to raise a minimum of five thousand pounds and, beyond that, to continue to support GM Fundraising with their events and on a long-term basis.”

Historically, the charity has raised funds through various means including gruelling bike rides across the UK, Europe and the USA.

Runners sponsoring GM Fundraising have also taken part in several marathons and other events such as charity galas and golf days are also held to raise money.

This year also saw the launch of Peddle2Paddle, a fundraising event exclusively for women.

Founded in 1888, Caldwell is a window and door hardware manufacturer and supplier and has engineered and distributed many industry firsts over this time, including the first spiral balance.

In 2014 the company also purchased Cotswold Architectural Products and continues to expand and develop its product range today.
